India E30 Petrol Standards May 2026 अब सिर्फ चर्चा नहीं, सरकारी notification बन चुके हैं. Bureau of Indian Standards यानी BIS ने 15 May 2026 को IS 19850:2026 standard notify कर दिया है, जो E22, E25, E27 और E30 तक के Ethanol-Petrol blends के लिए तकनीकी नियम तय करता है. इसका सीधा मतलब यह कि आने वाले समय में आप जिस pump पर रुकेंगे, वहां की petrol में Ethanol की मात्रा 20% से बढ़कर 30% तक पहुंच सकती है.

यह कदम छोटा-मोटा नहीं है. India पहले से ही E20 (20% Ethanol blend) देशभर में rollout कर चुका है और अब E30 की तरफ छलांग की पूरी तैयारी हो चुकी है. सवाल बस इतना है, कि आपकी मौजूदा car E30 पर चलेगी या नहीं और इससे mileage कितना घटेगा. BIS की नई IS 19850:2026 standard साफ बताती है कि E22, E25, E27 और E30 चारों variants positive ignition engine यानी आम petrol engine cars के लिए notify किए गए हैं. यह anhydrous ethanol और motor gasoline का mixture है. इसमें Ethanol की प्रतिशत मात्रा क्रमशः 22%, 25%, 27% और 30% तक रहेगी.

Notification में सरकार ने तीन बड़े लक्ष्य गिनाए हैं. पहला, crude oil import पर निर्भरता कम करना. दूसरा, vehicular emissions घटाना. तीसरा, देश के sugar और biofuel industry को सहारा देना. यानी एक तीर से तीन शिकार वाला plan है, और India E30 Petrol Standards May 2026 इस पूरे roadmap की रीढ़ हैं.

आपकी Car E30 पर चलेगी या नहीं?

यह वो सवाल है जो हर car मालिक के दिमाग में सबसे पहले आता है. Auto industry experts के मुताबिक भारत के ज्यादातर OEMs अब तक E20-compatible cars तो बना चुके हैं, लेकिन E30 के लिए engine calibration, fuel-system durability और corrosion resistance पर अलग engineering काम करना होगा.

मतलब साफ है, पुरानी 2010-15 model वाली car में सीधा E30 डालना सही नहीं होगा. Rubber pipes, gaskets और fuel pump को Ethanol की higher concentration से दिक्कत हो सकती है. नई BS6 phase-2 cars में स्थिति बेहतर है, लेकिन manufacturer की official compatibility list आने के बाद ही भरोसा करना ठीक होगा. Mileage और जेब पर क्या असर?

Ethanol में petrol के मुकाबले energy density कम होती है. Industry estimates के हिसाब से हर 10% Ethanol blending पर mileage में लगभग 2-3% की गिरावट देखी जाती है. यानी E30 पर शिफ्ट करने पर आपकी car का average kilometers/litre 6-7% तक नीचे जा सकता है.

लेकिन यहां twist है. Ethanol blended petrol की cost normal petrol से कम है क्योंकि domestic sugar और grain से बनती है, import नहीं. अगर सरकार price difference सही से consumer तक पास करती है, तो mileage की losses की भरपाई pump price से हो सकती है. All India Distillers’ Association यानी AIDA के President Vijendra Singh ने इस notification को significant and timely बताया है. उन्होंने कहा कि BIS standards सिर्फ technical document नहीं, ethanol adoption के लिए forward-looking commitment हैं. Industry की demand अब E85 और E100 तक जाने की है, जिसके लिए flex-fuel vehicles चाहिए होंगी.

Sugar mills और grain-based distilleries के लिए यह bumper opportunity है. E25 standard खासतौर पर surplus production capacity को खपाने में मदद करेगा. यानी India E30 Petrol Standards May 2026 सिर्फ pump पर नहीं, गन्ना किसान और biofuel makers की जेब पर भी सीधा असर डालेंगे.

Rollout कब और कहां पहले?

Government ने अभी official rollout timeline तो नहीं बताई है, लेकिन सूत्रों के मुताबिक pilot dispensing पहले उन states में होगा जहां ethanol production सबसे ज्यादा है, यानी Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka. इसके बाद धीरे-धीरे North और West India में expansion. South India में Tamil Nadu और Andhra Pradesh के sugar belt भी जल्द जुड़ सकते हैं.

Infrastructure की भी अपनी चुनौती है. हर petrol pump पर dispenser, storage tanks और signage upgrade करना होगा.
