Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data is — and isn't — collected when you use Masala Money, and the choices you have. The short version: our calculators collect nothing; the analytics and advertising services we use set cookies, and you can opt out of personalised ads.

Calculators: no personal data, ever

Every calculator on this site runs entirely in your browser (client-side JavaScript). The salary, savings, tax and investment figures you type are processed on your own device and are never transmitted to or stored on our servers. There are no accounts, no signup, no forms asking for your name, email or phone number, and nothing for us to leak or sell.

Analytics

We use the Google tag (gtag.js) to understand aggregate usage — which pages are visited, device type, approximate location (country/city level) and how visitors arrive. This relies on cookies and similar identifiers set by Google. We see anonymous, aggregated statistics; we do not see who you are. You can opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

This site shows ads served by Google AdSense. As part of serving ads:

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
  • Other ad-network vendors and partners may also use cookies for the same purpose; their use is governed by their own privacy policies.

Opting out of personalised ads

Opting out doesn't remove ads; it makes them non-personalised.

Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. This site uses: analytics cookies (Google tag, described above) and advertising cookies (AdSense and its vendors, described above). We set no cookies of our own for the calculators — they work fully with cookies disabled. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time; the site will keep working.

Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)

If you are in a jurisdiction with data-protection rights (such as the EU's GDPR or California's CCPA), you may request access to, or deletion of, personal data. Because Masala Money itself stores no personal data about visitors, such requests are usually satisfied immediately; for data held by Google (analytics/ads), use the Google opt-out and data controls linked above. You can still email us and we will help route the request.

Pages link to official sources (incometax.gov.in, India Post, RBI and others). Their privacy practices are their own; this policy covers only masalanews24.in.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with an updated effective date.
