"Cap" is market-cap size (Large/Mid/Small), not a rating. A price shows only where the symbol is in our daily feed (as of 2026-06-15); "—" means no price was sourced — we never show an invented figure.
What the Nifty 50 is
The Nifty 50 is the National Stock Exchange's flagship benchmark — the 50 largest, most-traded companies on the NSE, weighted by free-float market capitalisation across the major sectors of the Indian economy. When people talk about "the market" being up or down, they usually mean the Nifty 50. The table above lists all 50 constituents with their sector, market-cap band and, where we track it, a live price. It is a factual classification of which companies make up the index — not a ranking by attractiveness and not a "best stocks to buy" list.
Nifty 50 and the cap bands
Because the index is built from the biggest names on the exchange, its constituents are large-cap companies and they anchor the Nifty 100 large-cap universe. That tends to make the index, taken as a whole, less volatile than broader mid-cap or small-cap baskets — a factual observation about historical price behaviour, not a guarantee. Individual constituents still rise and fall, and the index itself falls in bear markets. Many investors track the Nifty 50 through low-cost index funds and ETFs rather than buying the 50 stocks individually; a steady SIP into such a fund is one common, diversified route.
How the list changes and how to use it
NSE reviews the index periodically — typically twice a year — adding and dropping companies based on market cap, liquidity and index rules, so the 50 names are a snapshot as of 2026-06-11, not a fixed roster. Treat this page as a research map: see who is in the benchmark, check each company's sector and price, then study its own filings and valuation before forming any view. For the full investable universe see the Nifty 500 list; for theme-based groupings see stocks by sector; for daily institutional flows see FII/DII data. None of this is investment advice — do your own research and consult a SEBI-registered adviser before investing. Data here is as of 2026-06-11.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Nifty 50?
The Nifty 50 is NSE's flagship benchmark index — the 50 largest and most-traded companies on the National Stock Exchange, weighted by free-float market capitalisation. It is widely used to represent the broad Indian equity market. This page lists all 50 constituents as a factual classification, not a recommendation to buy any of them.
How many stocks are in the Nifty 50?
Exactly 50, by design — the index always holds 50 companies. This page lists all 50 current constituents from our dataset with their sector and, where we track it, a live price. The specific names change at each periodic index review.
Are all Nifty 50 stocks large cap?
In practice, yes — the Nifty 50 is drawn from the largest companies on the exchange, so its constituents are large-cap names and form the core of the Nifty 100 large-cap universe. The "Cap" column above confirms each entry's size band.
Is the Nifty 50 the same as the Sensex?
No. The Nifty 50 is NSE's 50-stock benchmark; the Sensex is BSE's 30-stock benchmark. They overlap heavily in their biggest names and usually move together, but the Sensex tracks 30 companies on the BSE while the Nifty 50 tracks 50 on the NSE.
How often does the Nifty 50 list change?
NSE reviews the index periodically (typically twice a year). Companies are added or dropped based on market capitalisation, liquidity and other index rules, so the 50 names are not permanent. Always verify the current constituents on the NSE.
How current is this Nifty 50 stocks list?
The constituents were last reviewed as of 2026-06-11. Where a price is shown, it comes from our daily market feed (as of 2026-06-15) and only for the 50 of 50 symbols we currently track; every other price reads "—" because we never show a figure we cannot source. Verify all data on the NSE.
